The first Baby Boomer, A New Jersey mother and grandmother turned 61 on New Year's Day, 2007 and she has the distinction of being the very first baby boomer.
Kathleen Casey-Kirschling, of Cherry Hill, N.J., was born one second after midnight on Jan. 1, 1946. During this era, an American baby was born every eight seconds.
But that brings us to Baby Boomer #26. He had no distinction. No one questioned him about what Baby Boomers were thinking, doing or what cultural innovations were Baby Boomer style. He didn't make the newspapers or magazines. He went along with his sad life and became quite depressed.
It was Wesley at Life Two who explained the problems of fighting siblings:
Which can lead to major depression. Link
He developed phobias, especially about germs he had seen in the hospital (Psych Ward):
John at So Baby Boomer told #26 he needed to protect himself as germs become immune to almost every antibiotic developed during the past 60 years. Link
Deprived of love he sought the hot boomer women:
It’s the fashion question on every Boomer woman’s mind. How do you stay true to your personal style, but still look modern and youthful? Find out from Deborah and JoJami over at Café Glam, the fashion blog that helps women 40+ look and feel fabulous. Link
He was told to get lost, he looked like Mr. Spock
But he had missed the first episode of Star Trek and didn't have a clue - who was Mr. Spock? - Until Ron at I remember JFk filled him in on "Space . . . the final frontier . . . " Those words first were heard on
September 8, 1966, with the debut of Star Trek. Link
#26 became introverted enough to become a writer and join a literary salon
at Wendy's: Enjoy a virtual, multi-generational cuppa over at Gen Plus. Link
Rhea, at the Boomer Chronicles saw dead people with cones on their head.
What reminds you of your mortality? At The Boomer Chronicles it's orange safety cones in the street or cone heads or ice cream cones or Myron Cohen
But Rhea threw #26 in front of a funeral procession. It's a good luck thing in Boston and gives you a sense of your mortality but it completly disoriented #26. Link
He thought he was Roger Daltrey of The Who and went around singing "My Generation" and had 75 and 80 year old groupies. Do You think I'm kidding?
#26 is a rock n roll singer. He sings with the Zimmers. Go see Ann at Contemporary Retirement, she's recorded the whole thing and now it's on youtube: Link
"He started out on burgandy and soon hit the harder stuff" Yeah, hot fudge sundaes. He needed diet help with Karen at Addiction Recovery: Link
#26 now knew he was not a member of the Zimmers. He was actually Robert Zimmerman:
And just won a prestigious Art award in Barcelona at yourdrum Link
.
