Lori Earley has that pop/surrealist sensability, I like. A bit goth, dreamlike, cartoonish yet, realistic with an otherworldly reverb.
Lori got her break in 2005, having her painting, "The Hunter" appear on the cover of the avant garde pop magazine of the arts Juxtapoz.
Lori has often been asked if her paintings are digitally manipulated and they aren't. Her elongated design is her own style done with paint not photoshop.
Lori has a show opening, April 28th in NYC's Opera Gallery.
"Her oil paintings are a unique combination of classical realistic rendering with a person element of distortion. Their distortion is derived from her innate desire to render the worlds she feels, as opposed to the world she sees before her. Often, the eyes are the primary focus of expression and every painting is a portrait of implicit emotion and mystery- though the message is never obvious. The figures she paints exist in their own esoteric realm and time, and each painting offers a glimpse into their anomalous
world."
