Kevin Berlin debut's "Slaves of Fashion" at Gallerybar in NYC January 19-March 18 2007.
The paintings get into the fantasies of fashionistas and martini drinkers.
"Berlin’s mostly black and white "cocktail party" paintings, the Artist delves into the hidden world of "what people are thinking." The paintings were inspired by an ongoing series of personal interviews to discover the secret motivations of fashionable friends, acquaintances and complete strangers."
Kevins work can be found in the collections of Buzz Aldrin, Kim Basinger, Henry Buhl, David Letterman, Luciano Pavarotti, Senator Hillary Rodham Clinton and Quincy Jones to name a few.
Gallerybar is an innovative idea - Located in the booming Lower East Side art district, GalleryBar is no mere lounge. Reflective of its neighborhood, GalleryBar is also an art gallery featuring established, local and up-and-coming artists. Created by Darin Rubell (cousin of the legendary late Studio 54 co-owner Steve Rubell), Plan B owner Joshua Boyd and newcomer Derrek Vernon, and designed by architect Robert Stansell III, GalleryBar is inspired by a shared passion for art and a legacy in nightlife.
